You want to learn a topic, not look up a fact
A work skill, a subject you are curious about or something you need for a decision coming up. Cadence builds a course around it.
Cadence is a learning app with a personal tutor, on iPhone and Android. It does what a good tutor does, without you having to run it: it asks about your goal and starting point, plans a course, teaches one idea at a time, checks what landed, steps in when an answer misses and brings earlier ideas back before you forget them.

A chat assistant can explain almost anything, but you plan the curriculum, ask for the quiz and remember what you got wrong. Cadence does that part for you. Your goal and setup answers shape the course, each lesson teaches one idea and checks it, your tutor gives a hint when an answer misses and asks review questions on earlier lessons, and Today leads with the one next step that fits. For example, a new manager can ask for help giving feedback when deadlines slip, and Cadence plans the lessons, checks them and returns to the ideas that did not stick.
A work skill, a subject you are curious about or something you need for a decision coming up. Cadence builds a course around it.
Lessons include checks. A wrong answer brings a hint about why that choice does not hold, then a second try.
Short reviews bring back ideas from finished lessons before they fade, one question at a time.
When you open Cadence, Today leads with the one thing worth doing next: the next lesson, a review or practice.
Type a topic or goal and answer a few setup questions about where you are starting and what you want to be able to do.
Read or listen to each lesson, ask about a line that has not clicked and answer the lesson check.
Your tutor explains why a choice does not hold and points back to the lesson. Try again or ask a follow-up right there.
The next lesson takes what you got right and what slipped into account. Reviews return before ideas fade, and the tutor can add a short stop to revisit an idea that slipped.
These example outlines show where a course could start. Your tutor builds yours from your goal and setup answers.
Different tools can serve the same learner at different moments. The useful question is what kind of structure, source, and practice you need now.

| Option | How it usually helps |
|---|---|
| Chat assistants such as ChatGPT | Excellent for open questions, working with your own files and a study plan you manage yourself. You decide what to ask next and keep track of what you have covered. |
| Subject-specific tutoring apps | Strong when your subject is a language or school math and science, where a structured curriculum already exists for it. |
| Human tutors | The best choice when you need a person's accountability, accredited exam preparation or feedback on hands-on work. |
| Cadence | A strong fit for adults who want a tutor for a topic of their own choosing: a course planned around the goal, checks with hints when you miss, reviews before ideas fade and one clear next step, on iPhone and Android. |
Plus costs US$49.99 per year or US$8.99 per month on the web, after a 7-day trial. Buying inside the iPhone app instead shows Apple's own prices at checkout.
Free gives you 2 new lessons a day, with audio and 4 lesson voices included. Reopening a lesson you already opened never counts. Free also includes 4 new custom courses a month, 10 practice runs a month, 3 minutes of live voice practice a day, 10 Ask Coach messages a day, progress, streaks, and reminders.
Plus makes new lessons, custom courses, and Ask Coach unlimited, includes 10 practice sessions a day, gives you 15 minutes of live voice practice a day, and adds coach review after a practice, offline lessons and audio, and all 12 lesson voices. Unlimited is for one person learning. Cadence pauses use that looks automated at a generous daily ceiling. If that ever stops you while you are learning normally, email support@learningcadence.app and it is lifted straight away. Web checkout shows the final amount and currency before purchase.

When Cadence may not fit
A personal tutor app teaches you a subject over time instead of only answering questions. A good one plans what to learn next, checks your understanding, explains mistakes and brings back what you are likely to forget. Cadence does this for any topic you choose, on iPhone and Android.
You can ask ChatGPT to assess you, plan a curriculum, quiz you after each lesson and track your weak spots, but you write and manage those prompts yourself. Cadence does those steps by default: it plans the course, checks each lesson, gives a hint when an answer misses, brings ideas back for review and shows the next step. ChatGPT remains a good choice for open-ended questions and your own documents.
You can enter your own topic, from a work skill to history or personal finance, and answer setup questions about your level and goal. Unsafe or unsupported requests may not produce a course. Languages and hands-on skills are usually better served by a specialist app or a human teacher.
No. The tutor works inside your course. It stays quiet while you learn, speaks up with a hint when an answer misses, runs your review questions and points to your next step. There is no separate chat to manage.
Treat them as a strong study aid, not an authority. Lessons and hints can be incomplete or wrong, so check medical, legal, financial and other high-stakes information against reliable sources and qualified professionals.
