A useful request names what you want to do, where you get stuck and what you already know. Use this original example to write your own brief and check whether a proposed course fits. The outline below is an illustration, not a generated result or a promised syllabus.
‘Leadership’ leaves the task open. A more specific request is: ‘I am leading a team for the first time. I avoid raising missed deadlines because I worry the conversation will become defensive. I want to give clear feedback, hear the other person's view and agree a useful next step.’
An illustrative sequence could be: separate what happened from your interpretation; prepare a clear opening; respond when the other person disagrees; agree an action and a follow-up. Each part should help with the conversation named in the request.
Could you draft the opening, respond to a different explanation, and agree who will do what by when? A plan that only lists leadership styles does not yet show how it will help with this particular task.
A title match is not enough. Check the planned activities against your intended result and your starting level. If the fit is weak, make the request more specific or choose a different course. A plausible outline does not establish that the generated lessons are accurate or effective.
Complete this brief: ‘I want to be able to ___. My situation is ___. I already understand ___. I get stuck when ___. I would know I had improved if I could ___.’ Leave out names, confidential work and personal details you do not need to share.
