Account Deletion
Last updated: July 19, 2026
Cadence accounts are optional. You can keep using Cadence as a guest, and signed-in users can delete their account directly in the app.
Cancel an Apple subscription first
Deleting your Cadence account does not cancel Cadence Plus billed by Apple. If you no longer want the subscription to renew, open Apple's subscription page and cancel Cadence Plus before deleting the account. Cancellation stops the next renewal, and Plus remains active through the current paid period. Deleting the Cadence account removes its saved learning state even if Apple billing is still active.
Web billing is canceled before deletion
If your Cadence account has an active Stripe subscription, Cadence asks Stripe to cancel every non-ended web subscription before deleting the account. If Stripe cannot confirm cancellation, deletion stops and the account remains available so you can manage billing from your Cadence account or contact support. Deleting the account removes its saved learning state and access even if a paid period would otherwise remain.
Delete in the app
- Open Cadence.
- Go to Settings.
- Open the Account section.
- Choose Delete account and confirm.
This deletes your Cadence account identity, active access tokens, and account-saved learning state. The app clears its saved account credential and then returns to guest mode on that device.
Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, email support@learningcadence.app from the account email address when possible. Include "Cadence account deletion" in the subject so we can route the request.
What is deleted
- Account identity records, including an optional saved name, and sign-in access tokens.
- Account-saved course, lesson progress, streak, saved lesson, and generated artifact state tied to the account.
- Password reset and email verification tokens tied to the account.
What may remain
- Local guest data on devices where you keep using Cadence as a guest.
- A device-scoped guest identifier held by operating-system secure storage. It is not an active account credential.
- Product feedback and sanitized product usage analytics tied to a pseudonymous device identifier, including linked app and operating-system versions, unless you ask us to delete those too.
- Website waitlist entries or support messages unless you ask us to delete those too.
- Short-lived operational logs retained for security and reliability.
- A de-identified billing-event ledger may retain a store event identifier and transaction or subscription identifier for up to 400 days to reject duplicate delivery and investigate billing access. It does not retain the deleted account profile or learning state.
We retain sanitized product analytics only as long as needed to understand product use and improve Cadence. Email support@learningcadence.app if you also want feedback, analytics, waitlist, or support records deleted.
