Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 26, 2026

Cadence is a guest-first learning app. You can create courses and open lessons without an account, and you can optionally create an account to sync and restore progress. We keep what we collect to the minimum needed to generate your lessons, sync your learning state when you ask us to, and improve the app. We never sell your data.

What stays on your device

The topics you choose, your generated course plans, downloaded lessons, quiz answers, progress, streaks, and reminder settings are stored locally on your device under the active guest or account namespace. You can remove this data at any time by deleting your courses in the app, deleting your account from Settings, clearing local app data, or uninstalling the app.

What we send to our servers

To create a course or open a lesson, the app sends the topic and learning context you enter to our backend, which uses third-party AI providers to generate the plan and lesson content. A randomly generated, device-scoped guest identifier is used so the server can keep your course progression in sync. We do not require your name, email, or login to use the app, and this guest identifier is not linked to your real-world identity.

Optional accounts

If you create an account or sign in, we store the email address or provider identity needed to authenticate you, a hashed session token, and account-scoped learning state so your courses and progress can be restored after reinstall or on another device. When a guest signs in, Cadence migrates that guest learning state into the signed-in account.

AI providers

Lesson, plan, quiz, and coach content may be generated by large language models and related AI systems operated by different model providers, along with cloud compute services that run cutting-edge AI models. The topic and context you provide are sent to these providers solely to generate your content. We do not use your inputs to show advertising.

In-app feedback

If you send feedback from inside the app, we store your message, an optional email address if you choose to include one, an anonymous device identifier, and your app and OS version so we can understand and follow up on the report.

Anonymous usage analytics

We collect anonymous, structural product-usage events (for example, which screens are opened and which actions are taken) tied to an anonymous device identifier. These events are sanitized on the device to exclude your topic text and learning content before they are sent. We use them only to understand how the app is used and to improve it.

Website waitlist

If you join the waitlist on our website, we store the email address you provide along with basic submission details (the topic you typed, if any, the page URL, referrer, any campaign parameters, and your browser's user-agent string) so we can contact you when beta access opens.

What we don't do

  • We don't require an account to use onboarding, course creation, or lessons.
  • We don't sell or rent your personal information.
  • We don't show third-party advertising or use advertising trackers.

Data retention and deletion

On-device data is removed when you delete your courses, delete your account, clear local app data, or uninstall the app. Signed-in users can delete their account from Settings; this deletes the account identity and synced learning state. You can also use the public account deletion page at learningcadence.app/account-deletion/ or email us to request deletion of account, waitlist, or feedback data.

Children

Cadence is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

International users

Our servers and AI providers operate in the United States. By using Cadence you understand that the limited data described above may be processed there.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above.
