Reading about giving feedback is not the same as saying it out loud to someone who pushes back. Practice gives you a short scenario drawn from lessons you have already finished, asks you to reply the way you would in the room, and tells you what landed and what did not.

A rehearsal, not a reading.
Practice is a role-play built from your own course. Cadence sets the scene, gives you a role and a task, and plays the other person. You type or speak your reply, you may get a follow-up before feedback, and the response you get is about the words you used rather than a score. You can also bring a real situation of your own: an upcoming conversation, message, or decision, and Cadence shapes the scenario around it.

Finish a few lessons first
Practice draws on what you have already covered, so it opens once you have completed a module's worth of lessons in a course, between three and five depending on the course length.
Pick a practice or bring your own
Open the Practice tab for scenarios built from your finished lessons, or choose Practice a real situation and describe what is actually coming up.
Reply as you would out loud
Type your response or use the microphone. The other person may follow up before you get feedback, the same way a real conversation does.
Read what landed
You get specific feedback on the reply you gave. On Plus you can also take that attempt to Ask Coach and work through it.

- Practice opens after you have completed a module's worth of lessons in a course, not on your first day.
- The Free plan includes 10 Practice runs a month, plus 2 practices with your own situations each month. Plus includes up to 30 Practice runs a day and lets you create more situations.
- Taking a finished attempt to Ask Coach for review is a Plus capability.
- Feedback is generated and can be wrong. Treat it as rehearsal, not as professional, legal, medical, or HR advice.

Can I practise something that is not in my course?
Yes. Practice a real situation lets you describe an upcoming conversation, message, or decision, and Cadence shapes the scenario around it and around the course you are taking.
Do I have to type, or can I speak?
Either. A practice reply can be typed or dictated with the microphone, so you can rehearse out loud if that is closer to the real thing.
Is the feedback a score?
No. The response is about the reply you gave: what was clear, what was missing, and what to try instead. There are no streaks, badges, or due dates attached to Practice.
