How Cadence works

A problem or curiosity becomes a course you can return to.

Choose a reviewed course or describe what you want to solve or understand. Cadence asks a few setup questions, maps the path, opens one short lesson at a time, saves progress, and keeps Ask Coach inside the lesson context. Read or listen, complete a lesson check or practice when it helps, then return to the next lesson.

Questions

What to ask before choosing.

Is Cadence a good BeFreed alternative?

Yes, when you want a readable continuing course built around your problem or curiosity, with checks and practice connected to completed lessons. BeFreed may fit better when you want source uploads, more audio controls, or more languages.

Does BeFreed build an ordered learning plan?

Its current App Store listing says yes. BeFreed says it uses a quick assessment to build a sequenced curriculum and adapts that plan as the learner progresses. We confirmed the published claim but did not complete a signed-in plan to test how much the sequence changes.

Can Cadence turn my own PDF or video into a lesson?

No. Cadence builds a course from a topic or practical goal you describe. BeFreed's official site says it can generate lessons from books, PDFs, YouTube videos, and articles you supply, which is a different starting point.

Does Cadence have audio?

Yes. Cadence lessons can be read or played as audio. BeFreed is audio-first and offers more control over the narration, including voice, length, language, and style.

How does practice differ?

Cadence uses lesson checks and practice grounded in the course material already completed, including learner-owned situations. You can type your reply or speak it out loud with an AI partner and get feedback afterwards; that needs a microphone, and not every course has a suitable exercise yet. BeFreed's current listing advertises live spoken conversation rehearsal with real-time coaching. We have not compared the quality of these practice experiences.
